Is a beautifully illustrated, wordless graphic novel about a boy suffering from depression. The author/illustrator had spent many years on this project but sadly took her life before she finished. Shaun Tan helped to complete two final images from Mel’s roughs to make the story read. The design of the text had to remain minimal so the art spoke, not the design. Fine grey keylines were used to finish the drawings and unite everything. I chose the cover illustration which was enlarged and enhanced. I wanted the cover type to be legible from a distance not not overpower the image.
