This novel is part contemporary, part historical and part time-slip so we wanted to create a design that felt like it could be all those things without giving anything away. The image has a beautiful sense of movement and mystery in a genre than can feel very formulaic. I wanted to create a commercial women’s fiction jacket that had the strong presence of the protagonist without the full/half/part face that is so expected nowadays. The title and flourishes I hand embroided and embossed to give tactile quality to the package.
