Set in 1916, The Invisible War weaves together history and science through a graphic novel and educational appendix. Influenced by newspapers/ journals/war bulletins from early1900s, the two sections were unified through a black and white colour scheme and natural white Cyclus stock. Three typefaces gave each section its own voice. To personalise the story, a hand-written font was designed with the illustrator. For the appendix, Knockout was chosen to create bold headlines, balanced through the body copy with the classical Adobe Garamond Pro. A series of questions and answers, the appendix links chronologically to the graphic novel through numbered citations.jaye
