About the Designer

Design Rationale

A design that says approachable, modern and non-intimidating was the intention for Less Waste No Fuss Kitchen. Freight Neo was chosen as the hero typeface for its clean and friendly nature which is further softened by its display in lowercase. To appeal to a female audience whilst nodding to the environment, illustrations by Madeline Martinez were commissioned. Choice of pastel colours are in-dispersed with earthy tones. Geared towards readers with a busy lifestyle, the challenges were to present as much content as possible with engaging, digestible layouts, reducing overwhelm of the abundance of tabled information with inclusion of hand-drawn guidelines.
