-
I loved reading this book- a satirical and scary look at Australian consumerism and multiculturalism. I needed a way to make it feel claustrophobic and intense. I started playing around with street maps which led me to aerial views of suburban Sydney. I turned one image into a pattern by flipping it and repeating it upside down. It created a suburban mosaic pattern with an endless ring road and echoes of something more exotic and multicultural than outer Sydney McMansions! I chose bold authoritative type and embedded it in the image in a subtle way to combine the two.
