I wanted my initial visuals to portray the undercover tale of a technological odyssey that has promised so much. Creating a symbol that would represent both sides. The illustration came about through research, sketching, and thinking of how I could utilise the similar shapes of the wind turbine and the pick axe. Continuing the shape down draws the viewers eye to the dark truth, via some bold typography into the ‘mines’ discussed within the book. A metal texture would have been a bonus, and Scribe rolled with that idea and more, printing onto a metallic finish. Elevating the final design.
