About the Designer
Josh worked in magazine design before setting up his company Design by Committee under the mentorship of Australian book design luminary W.H. Chong. He draws upon a broad skill base to offer both illustrative and concept driven solutions to literary fiction, commercial fiction, YA, children’s, non fiction and illustrated book commissions for all of Australia’s leading publishers.

A lovely little jacketed hardback and blue case . ‘The Sea an Us’ is a fish & chip shop in the book. I wasnt sure about having something a static as a shop front on it like the publisher was insisting. I researched neon type forms and then spent some time working up my own lettershapes by hand and then traced them in photoshop. I added the little motif illos in a contrasting colour – still pretty crude- and sent it through to the client. The cover is dynamic and eyecatching. All type and illustration work by Design by Committee.
