This novel is based on a true story and was written specifically to be produced as a movie. After the main character finds herself torn apart by her troubled past, her strives for her independence and to put her life back together. The brief asked for a filmic quality with a simple strong graphic and a nod to Saul Bass. Immediately I thought of a discarded paper doll that had been ripped and torn but not destroyed enough that it couldn’t be taped back together. Representing the girl as fragile yet resilient and tough.
