The Upside Down Sid series needed to have mass-market appeal but also a quirky edge. I wanted to create a series design that had a distinct look and colour palette. The simplicity of the covers suit the style of artwork and also really make them stand out. I worked closely with the publisher and illustrator to help develop the artwork and create a retro-inspired colour palette to use across the series to achieve the overall bright, bold and slightly off-beat look. Simple finishes of wood-free stock and matt lamination were used as we felt these best suited the books.
