Design Rationale

Rohan’s theories and teachings on how to live off the land in a more sustainable, practical and ethical way throughout the seasons of each year heavily influenced the design direction I went in. He also has a really North American vibe about the food he cooks and the life he lives in and around the forests of Daylesford, Victoria, which is how I ended up researching old hunting and fishing guides from the US, as well as vintage National Geographics. The fonts are lifted from classic 70s advertising, the seasonal colour palette from 70s kitchen laminex, and the illustration style harks back to that instructional style from vintage school textbooks.
