This is a coming of age novel, with a boy meets girl storyline. I wanted to create a cover that uses a stereotype but with a slight twist. I liked the idea of the ‘love me, love me not’ flower and came across this great image which felt perfect for the story. I loved summery colours and the movement of the petals, it visually looks like an excited explosion which is the perfect visual representation of young love. I used a scrawly handwritten font to create a sense of youth and nostalgia.
