The Gateway series cover design is a collaboration between graphic designer Latifah Cornelius and illustrator Craig Phillips. Using bold special Pantone inks that pop on the shelf along with a stylised duotone illustration to create a pulp-fiction feel, we have given the covers for The Gateway series a look of classic mystery and adventure that reflects the fun stories they hold inside. The graphic and ornate, steam-punk inspired embossed and glossed iron gateway that frames the cover is a metaphorical and literal entrance to the Gateway Hotel and to the gateway to other worlds that it contains. Balancing the measured art-deco grandeur of an old hotel and quirky science-fiction adventure, the unique result is an eye-catching series of covers that we are very proud of.
